Beta Testers Wanted
Thank you for your interest in beta testing UltimaCalc. We are currently seeking beta testers for the forthcoming update.
What we require from you as a beta tester is:
- A commitment to spend at least four hours in testing.
- We require you to complete testing within one week of receiving the product.
- You should report all the problems or difficulties you experience with the product, whether these be program crashes or difficulty in finding out how to do something.
- We also welcome comments on how we might improve UltimaCalc, and about defects in the documentation.
- You will be expected to report your findings to us by email.
- To become a beta tester means that you are entering into a confidential agreement with UltimaCalc. This means that you are not allowed to discuss UltimaCalc beta versions with any third party without our prior consent.
From us in return
Everybody who joins our beta test program and who does a conscientious job of testing and reporting will be given a free copy of the new version of UltimaCalc when it is released. This copy will have the same status as a purchased copy.
How do I become a beta tester?
- You need to tell us about yourself and about the hardware you use, by answering the questions in the following section.
- Email this information to us, along with a statement that you accept the conditions on this page. You can do this conveniently by entering this into Notepad, then going to the Contact Us page, and pasting the text. Don't forget to include your name and email address.
We will look at the information you send us, and let you know whether you have been approved as a beta tester. Please be patient, as this process can take a week or more. All information you send us will be treated in the strictest confidence, and will not be divulged to third parties under any circumstances.
What do we need to know?
- Your name, and valid email and postal addresses, including the country.
- The computer(s) you will be using for testing: the operating system(s), file system(s), processor speed, amount of RAM.
- Your level of computer experience. Would you describe yourself as a complete beginner, reasonably knowledgeable, experienced, a programmer? Please note that we welcome all levels of experience.
- Some indication of your educational achievements.
- How much experience have you had of testing other products?
- Why are you interested in beta testing UltimaCalc?
Write your answers to the above into a text processor such as Notepad. Include a statement that you accept the conditions on this page, and send the text to us via the Contact Us page by pasting the text as the message. We will reply as soon as possible.
