Shortcut keys

Ctrl+A: Select all of the text in an edit box. You can then use the standard Ctrl+C shortcut to copy the selected data into the computer’s clipboard. From there, you can paste the data wherever you like. If you use the standard Ctrl+X shortcut to cut the selected text, you will find that in some cases, i.e. sides and angles of triangles, Ctrl+X will not copy the text. When this happens, the text is not deleted either. Use Ctrl+C instead. You can also click with the right mouse button on the edit box to obtain a pop-up menu of appropriate actions. A double left click selects the current ‘word’ (usually, but not always, the value displayed).

Ctrl+C: Copy the selected text to the clipboard.

Ctrl+D: Set the view mode to Standard (the Default mode).

Ctrl+E: Set the view mode to Engineering.

Ctrl+H: Set the view mode to Hexadecimal.

Ctrl+R: Show the multiple Results window. The data shown is the data last stored in this window, not necessarily the last result(s) calculated.

Ctrl+Shift+R: Re-calculate the current expression and show the result as a list of ratios, or rational numbers, in the multiple results window. Note that using the menu item to view ratios does not cause the current expression to be re-calculated first.

Ctrl+T: Set the view mode to Time and Date.

Ctrl+1: Set the view mode to Scientific 1 (all values being shown with an exponent).

Ctrl+3: Set the view mode to Scientific 3 (all values being shown with an exponent which is a multiple of 3).

Enter: Causes a calculation to be performed. In some specialised windows, such as Standard Deviation and Regression, this key may cause new data you typed to be included into the calculation.

Ctrl+Delete: Clears UltimaCalc's main input window.

When calculating polynomial regression, Ctrl used with the + and - keys on the numeric keypad will increase or decrease the order of the approximating polynomial. These key combinations can also be used to change the number of variates to be used when performing multivariate regression.
