UltimaCalc
The Ultimate Mathematical Toolbox
UltimaCalc is an algebraic graphing calculator that is easy to use and can occupy only a little space on your screen, so you can keep it open and ready for use at all times, even on top of other windows. The main window allows calculations to be expressed in mathematical form, in other words as expressions entered in plain text. You can edit what you typed and repeat the calculation. UltimaCalc has a large range of functions built in, including a function for definite integrals, and you can define your own functions too.
From the main window, you can open other windows for special purposes:
- Calculate Standard Deviation and a host of other statistics.
- Calculate and view various forms of regression lines and curves.
- Fit a nonlinear equation to data.
- Solve simultaneous linear or nonlinear equations.
- Calculate parameters that minimise an expression.
- Solve triangles, with a graphical illustration.
- Plot functions, several together.
- Calculate the roots of polynomials.
- Create barcharts, line charts, pie charts.
- Do simple navigational calculations.
- View a handy reference table of more than 100 constants.
UltimaCalc works to a very high precision of 38 digits, and can log the results of any calculation to a file.
System Requirements
UltimaCalc has been designed to operate on Windows versions 95 onwards and NT 4.0 onwards. It has been tested on Windows Vista, Windows XP (SP2), Windows 98SE, and Windows 95, using processors running at speeds from 200MHz to 2GHz.
Although UltimaCalc will work on an 800x600 screen, a horizontal screen resolution of 1024 pixels or more is highly recommended, especially for some of the special tools.

Sample files
A collection of sample calculation files can be found in a folder inside the folder into which UltimaCalc was installed. This folder can be opened conveniently by using the menu item Help / Open Samples Folder. The files, and calculation files you create yourself, can be opened with the menu item File / Open... which will load a file into the appropriate special tool. The samples folder also contains a PDF file describing these samples, and some of the subfolders contain screenshots.
