View Symbols and User Functions
This window enables you to view symbols which have been assigned values. You can also view, create and edit user-defined functions. To open this window, click on the Symbols button on the Algebra window. A window like the following will open. You can drag the window's borders and the column headings to obtain the best view.

This window shows that two symbols have values, and that one symbol has been given a function definition. A right-click on one of these will open a pop-up menu containing an appropriate selection of the following items:
Add new function
This opens a window in which a new function can be defined. More information.
Assign
This undoes the effect of noting that a symbol's value or function definition is to be removed. The symbol's type reverts to 'Symbol' or 'Function'.
Edit function
This opens a window in which a function's definition can be changed. It is not possible to rename the function. More information.
Unassign
This records the fact that the symbol's value is to be removed. The symbol's type changes from 'Symbol' to 'Deleted'.
Undefine
This records the fact that the symbol's function definition is to be removed. The symbol's type changes from 'Function' to 'Deleted'.
The actual removal of a symbol's value or function definition is postponed until the 'OK' button is pressed. This gives you a chance to change your mind before closing the window.
Copy
Click on this button to copy a textual description of the contents of the window to the clipboard. The text can then be pasted into any program that accepts pasted text.
Log
This functions much like the 'Copy' button, above, except that the text is written to the log file.
